High stakes

The cards have been good to me the last couple of weeks and I’m planing to take my gaming to the next level. Coming up in January is the Aussie Millions. A pretty big poker tournament with about 800 players at the main event. Last year the winner got 2 million australian dollars in prize money, that would be nice to get my hands on!

I only need a little bit more money, easily won on some hold’em online, and then I’m on my way to Melbourne and the Aussie Millions at the Crown.

Last year Tom Dwan played the Millions.

Tilting Poker player

Last time I told you about my favourite hand in poker. Two days ago I got to rub it in the face of a really anoying player! He was sitting there across the table just check raising me all the time. My stack decreased more and more and I had to do someting to get out of there with my head still held high.

And then it happened! I got exactly the cards I wrote about, 8 and 9 of hearts. The flop came, 9s, Kh and 5h. I hit middle pair and a flush draw. He checked (of course), and I checked back.

The turn card was 8 of clubs and he checked again. I raised him $400 and he raised me $400 more.

I had a crazy pulse now. I only a little more than $1000 left in my stack, so the river had to be good.

9 of clubs! 9 OF CLUBS!

I had a full house and the only way he could beat me was with two kings.

He checked, I went all-in and he called me. The look on his face when I showed my hand was one in a million! He never showed me his cards, but i’m  guessing perhaps a king and some other suited card.

After that hand this guy really flipped and started tilting like a mad man. When I left i had more than quadrupled my starting stack.

Felt really good!

Well at least he didn’t have to deal with a bad beat like this, Oh my gawd!
